EFC Survey for Pastors

survey600pxTo CABC Pastors: We have an opportunity to participate in a national study on the missions engagement of evangelical churches. I’d like to explain what the research is about and how your participation can directly benefit our denomination.

Our denomination is an affiliate of The Evangelical Fellowship of Canada (EFC) and the EFC is partnering with the Canadian Missions Research Forum (CMRF, www.theEFC.ca/CMRF) to study the missions engagement of Canadian Evangelicals and evangelical churches. Rather than study what missionaries do on the field or the mechanisms that get them there, this research looks at what individuals and churches thing and do about missions. It also considers wider questions like what we mean when we talk about “missions.”

Here are the benefits to participating in the 20-minute online survey:
1. The researchers will provide our denomination with the survey data for respondents who give permission for their anonymous data to be shared with their denominational leaders. We will receive the data from a professional survey for very little effort.
2. We will be able to compare our data to national numbers when the national research report is released.
3. There is a parallel survey being conducted on the Angus Reid Forum with lay Evangelicals. This lay survey data will be included in the final report and we’ll be able to see if there are differenced between the way lay people and pastors are thinking about “missions.”
4. We will have opportunities to attend forums with the researchers to talk about what the data means and how we might respond as pastors and as a denomination.

I have seen the survey questionnaire and I believe this will be valuable information for our denomination and for the Kingdom of God in Canada. Please take 20-minutes to do the survey now. (There is also a chance to enter a draw for an iPad mini 4 (64GB, WiFi) at the end of the survey.)
