Monday Musings October 6th

man-taking-notes-bible54 – the percentage of our current Clergy who will be eligible for retirement in 15 years, that approximately 250 of our 460 current active clergy.

7 – the number of Ordinations that will take place over the next 2 months which got started this past weekend. Pray for these pastors and their congregations as the celebrate a great start to a wonderful journey.

50 – the percentage of Clergy who are dissatisfied with their physical health. Ask God how you can help/encourage your pastor to be healthy . . . and no telling him simply not to eat as much isn’t what I mean!

36 – the number of pounds that I have lost over the last 6 months. This is seriously hard work, I am grateful to Cheryl Ann Beals for bringing us the challenge to be healthy pastors.

12 – the number of Pastors and spouses who signed up for the “Good Life” fitness center as part of the Wellness initiative. The next time to join is Nov 15th, with a registration deadline of November 3rd. More info here: https://baptist-atlantic.ca/our-convention/departments/clergy-formation-and-wellness/.

2 – the number of “Greens” who pastor CABC churches in the Chester area. I learned this as I went to the wrong church on my way to the Lunnenburg/Queens Association meeting this past Saturday! I did get there in time to present on the CABC.

25 – the number of minutes it takes to walk from the Digby Admiral to the Digby Ferry dock. I know this because after being stranded in Digby an extra night (ferry couldn’t cross) and my two companions thought it would be a good idea to walk to the ferry at 7AM instead of hailing a taxi…no my companions were not Peter and Greg!

2 – the number of well doers who offered to give a lift along the way…

0 – the number of CABC staff who took them up on the offer…

3 – the number of days the Board of Ministerial Standards and Education will spend together next week. Pray for the Board and the candidates who come before them, it is shaping up to be a great group!
