Summerside Baptisms

summerside-03The past few weeks have been a blessing and encouragement to our church body at Summerside Baptist Church (PE). We’ve experienced declarations of faith, a coming together in fellowship and times of deepened understanding of scripture. My role within this local congregation is to teach, equip, and disciple the youth – teaching them the importance of faith in Christ, the need for Christ and how to walk in accordance to the scriptures in a time of chaos and perversion. Over the past few months, I’ve had five youth come to me expressing interest in being baptized. I baptized two on October 30th and three on November 6th. We are excited to see what God is doing in and through our youth of our church.

summerside-01I was reminded of Philip and the Ethiopian Eunuch in Acts 8 when talking with our youth about Baptism

  1. Its only about professing Christ and declaring Him Lord of Lord and King of Kings
  2. We are not saved by baptism
  3. We are commanded to make disciples and then baptize those disciples
  4. We don’t need hours and hours of baptism classes, we need water.

Testimony of Samson Imanirambona
I was raised in a Christian home, in the country of Burundi in Africa. Which at the time was a war ravaged country, so, my family moved to P.E.I through a lot of prayer and travel. As a kid I did not really understand the concept of God, and growing up I gained a relationship with God. But as I grew I started to question God and if I should follow Him. It was through Camp Seggie and Youth group that helped strengthen my relationship with God. I see baptism as a way to declare my commitment to Jesus Christ and proclaim Him as Lord and Saviour.
