The Well 2014 Recap

the-well-300px“Our mission is to make God famous in the world – and we do that by loving one another.” – Mark Sypher (The Well, 2014)

This year, Bayside Camp played host to The Well – a ministry initiative of the CABC Youth & Family Ministries for those aged 18-25(ish). Spanning the weekend of January 24-26, 39 people were part of the retreat that happened for the second time in two years.

the-well-01-300pxTim Milner and Ron Scott (Crandall University) led worship for the event. They did a fantastic job, making the main sessions meaningful and engaging, while encouraging a heart after Christ.

the-well-02-300pxMark Sypher (New Minas Baptist) was the keynote speaker and he was both encouraging and challenging. He reminded us about our need for authentic community that pushes us forward in our relationship with Christ. After sharing about how communities need leaders, Mark reminded us that we need to have a vision that moves us to love others and fulfill our common mission of glorifying God.

the-well-03-300pxResponses from participants were positive and encouraging. Providing a community to connect with in a retreat setting has a lot of potential for fostering personal transformation, and the majority of responses seem to indicate that this is what happened.

Thank you to those who sent (even brought) young adults to The Well, and to those who supported them financially or through other means. Your investment in this event means an investment in their lives.

Ministry to (or perhaps more importantly “with”) young adults in your church and community is incredibly important. This is just one reason why the CABC Youth & Family Department has invested in The Well. If you’re looking for some help or resources for your church in this area, or if you want to invest in The Well in some way, please connect with the Youth & Family department of the CABC.

The Well is a ministry of the CABC’s Youth & Family Ministries Department. Mitchell DeWare leads “The Well” with his wife Carolyn, John Campbell, Louise Knowles, Cara Rossiter and Jody Linkletter.
