Wayne grew up in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. After completing Grade 12, he worked in the Bank of Nova Scotia for three years and with the Municipality of Yarmouth for five years. Married in 1970, he and his wife Debbie have four sons.
Feeling a strong sense of call to pastoral ministry he began studies at Acadia Divinity College where he has completed a Bachelor of Theology Degree and a Masters in Divinity Degree.
His pastoral experience includes ministry at Clyde Avenue Baptist Church in Sydney Mines, Nictaux Baptist Church, Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, New Minas Baptist Church and West End Baptist Church in St. John’s, N.F.
Beyond the local church level, Wayne has served with the Canadian Baptist Ministries Board and The Sharing Way Working Group.
He began his position as Regional Minister for Southwestern Nova Scotia (Region 5) in May of 2001. This position provides opportunity for leadership in the areas of mission strategy, church resources, pastoral care of pastors and their families, conflict resolution, assistance in pastor/church transitions, and acting liaison with churches, associations and the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches. The position also provides opportunity to serve with the Board of Ministerial Standard and Education, the Atlantic Baptist Missions Board, and the Lay Pastors Training Program Committee.
