NEXT Conference A Great Success

Last weekend almost 200 leaders in children / family ministries from all over the Atlantic Provinces gathered for an exciting time of connecting, worship, and training!  This is the second year for NEXT Conference, and it was a great success!

NEXT Conference is an annual conference for leaders in children / family ministries. Building on 2012’s fantastic event in Moncton, NEXT Conference 2013 was hosted on April 19-20, 2013 in Halifax, NS.

Event director, Jon Dixon said: “It’s an honor to be a part of what God is doing the in the lives of children and families ministry leaders across Atlantic Canada. NEXT Conference 2013 was a fantastic event! I can hardly wait to gather again in 2014!”

Those who attended NEXT Conference 2013 benefited from great teaching by Dale Hudson, the Children’s Ministry Director at Christ Fellowship Church in Florida. Dale taught about the Why, What and Who of children / family ministries, inspiring leaders to fully understand why we do what we do.  Attendees were also privileged to be led in worship by Tim Milner.

On Saturday morning and afternoon NEXT Conference included many workshop options for attendees to choose from. The workshops were led by leaders from various Atlantic Canadian churches, telling the stories of exciting things that God is doing here!

Dale Stairs, director of Youth and Famliy for the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches, said: “I am very pleased with how this event is developing. I believe that training up leaders in the area of children and family ministries will have a tremendous impact on the church in Atlantic Canada.”

Plans are already underway for NEXT Conference 2014, to take place on April 4-5, 2014 in Moncton, NB.  This is an event that those who serve children and their families will not want to miss!
