Speaker: Laurette Nwaonumah (Victim Services, Saint John Police)
Title: “What pastors and churches need to know about victims of crime.”
Laurett Nwaonumah is a dedicated professional who works as the Wellness and Crisis Intervention Coordinator for the Saint John Police Force. With an educational background that includes a Master of Arts in Experimental Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Biology-Psychology from the University of New Brunswick, Laurett has sharpened her skills in crisis intervention, safety planning with victims/survivors of crime, and critical incident stress management.
Her role involves providing critical support to victims of crime, developing wellness programs, and facilitating psychological debriefings for police employees. Her work is characterized by a compassionate approach and a deep understanding of community resources, making her a valuable professional in her field.
In addition to her professional work, Laurett is committed to her faith in Jesus, and to her local church community, volunteering in a few different ministries, which also reflects her deep commitment to community service.
