The End of Denominations?

November 23, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

2017 Crandall University Public Lecture – The End of Denominations?
Declining Denominational Identity in Canadian Pentecostalism

Church leaders no longer identify with their denomination’s distinctive beliefs — compared to previous decades.

Are other organizations — for example, megachurch networks — taking up the work of denominations?

Adam Stewart, Crandall sociology professor, will explain trends over the past two decades in one denomination. New research revealed that PAOC church leaders do not focus on long-time denominational distinctives like Spirit baptism and speaking in tongues. Church leader success now seems to lie in doing what evangelical pastors all do.
