Aenon Baptist Church Announces “40 Days of Community”
rn
In February Aenon Baptist Church in Chester Basin, NS, will kick off an emphasis on community based on the popular book, The Purpose Driven Life. The church has already studied the book, and so they thought this would be a natural follow-up because it focuses people on God”s purposes for them and their community.

“The book got us thinking about what on earth am I here for,” said Pastor Don Dunn. “This campaign will help us understand what on earth we are here for. There is a great need for community in our church, and for us to reach our community.”
rn
The church has a number of events planned to reach out to their community, including a door-to-door food drive to support the Lighthouse Food Bank in Chester. They call it SAVE – “Stuff a Van Everyone.” In addition, church members will join one of a number of small group studies for the campaign. It all starts with a kick-off potluck supper.

Aenon”s emphasis has caught the attention of local media. After sending out a press release, Pastor Dunn was interviewed on local radio station CKBW. Two local newspapers have also expressed interest.

Pastor Dunn says, “I”m excited to be part of this campaign which will help us as God”s people to move from the pew to the streets and put our faith into practice ministering to the surrounding communities. Through this campaign we will all be working as God”s team sharing His love with our neighbours.”
