CBM Names New Atlantic Rep
Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM) has announced that Rev. Randy Stanton has been appointed to the role of Atlantic Canada Representative, beginning September 14, 2015.
Randy has been serving as the Lead Pastor of First Baptist Church in New Glasgow, NS since 2011. He previously served as Lead Pastor at First Baptist Church in Brandon, MB for 11 years. Originally from Atlantic Canada, Randy has also pastored in St. John’s, NL and Port Hawkesbury, NS. Aside from pastoring, Randy has also been deeply involved with the Armed Forces as a Unit/ Brigade Chaplain since 1988. In 2010, he went to Bolivia with CBM as part of a pastors’ short-term mission team. Randy is currently completing his Doctor of Ministry degree at Acadia Divinity College.
CBM’s Atlantic Canada Representative serves as the key connecting point between CBM and the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches and all its churches. Randy’s primary responsibilities will include strengthening mission engagement and facilitating dialogue on integral mission and its practice through the local church, both in our own neighborhoods and around the world.
Says Randy, “As a pastor I have had the pleasure of serving the Lord in different and unique churches. The lessons learned and the opportunities afforded have brought me to a point in ministry where I have a fairly broad view of church and mission both globally and locally. I believe my experiences will enable me to facilitate meaningful dialogue with churches in Atlantic Canada about their mission engagement.”
Currently Randy will be based in New Glasgow but it is anticipated that he and his wife Heather will move to Moncton within the next year, where CBM’s Atlantic office will be located.
